Accessible legal advice with a social conscience

D-Legal is a legal consultancy with a clear mission: making the law accessible to those who need it, but for whom the threshold to hire a lawyer is too high. Our clients often do not qualify for subsidised legal aid and find a lawyer charging €250 to €350 per hour financially out of reach. For this group, we offer a powerful middle-ground solution. But even those who can afford higher fees and are simply looking for decisive, efficient, and no-nonsense legal advice will find D-Legal the right place to turn to.

We provide legal support in a wide range of matters: from cases before the subdistrict court and consumer issues to contesting ”strafbeschikkingen” and disputes with government authorities. We also assist with debts — contacting creditors, seeking payment arrangements, or working to achieve (partial) debt forgiveness.

Our motivation

D-Legal was founded in response to a growing social need: more and more people are finding themselves in trouble with government agencies or creditors, yet have no idea where to turn. Take, for example, the Dutch childcare benefits scandal, in which thousands of people fell victim to unlawful decisions — often without understanding exactly what had gone wrong.

Letters from government agencies are often filled with complex legal terms that many people simply cannot understand. We aim to be the bridge between the government and the citizen: explaining what a decision really means and immediately assessing whether it is legally sound. If the decision is unlawful, we take action — without unnecessary formalities and always in clear language. We listen, think along with you, and take swift action when needed. Our legal professionals combine expertise with a committed and decisive approach.

Our values

  • Accessibility: clear pricing, easy contact, no legal jargon
  • Commitment: we go beyond the file and put our clients first
  • Decisiveness — we act as soon as action is needed
